Barry Moore Gets a Big Thumbs Up!

Alabama's Senate race just got a whole lot more interesting! U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) is celebrating a major endorsement from the Senate Conservative Fund (SCF).

SCF: Moore's the Real Deal

The SCF isn't holding back, folks. They're calling Moore a potential "all-time great" in D.C. The group believes Moore is ready to "pick up right where Coach Tuberville leaves off," championing conservative values like border security, fighting crime, defending the right to life, boosting the economy, and keeping girls' sports sacred.

"Original MAGA Warrior"

The SCF is all in, promising to work hard to get Moore through the Republican Primary and onto a win in November. They're painting Moore as a trustworthy, true-blue conservative. "He’s the original MAGA warrior," they declared. "He has never let us down before. He won’t let us down in the Senate."

Moore Responds

Moore's clearly thrilled. "I’m honored to have the support of the Senate Conservatives Fund," he said, emphasizing their knack for backing candidates who won't buckle under pressure in the "D.C. swamp." Moore added, "Alabama doesn’t need a weathervane politician. I ain’t never been nothing but a conservative Republican.”

Moore's Conservative Credentials

Moore's known for his conservative stance. He was one of the first to endorse Donald Trump back in 2015 and boasts a stellar voting record in the House.

The Race is On

Moore's aiming to fill the shoes of U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn), who's making a run for governor. With the SCF backing him, this race is heating up! They'll even cover all the processing fees and send those sweet, sweet donations straight to Moore's campaign.

Alabama Mom Fights for Justice After DUI Tragedy

An Alabama mom is on a mission to overhaul the state's Youthful Offender law after her 19-year-old son tragically lost his life in a DUI crash. Randi McDavid Jones is turning her grief into action, seeking to prevent similar injustices.

The Heartbreaking Loss of Nolan McDavid

Nolan McDavid, a bright University of South Alabama student, was killed last November when a 17-year-old driver, allegedly speeding at 117 mph, crossed the center line and collided head-on with Nolan's vehicle. The driver's blood alcohol content was reportedly 0.111, with Valium also detected in his system.

Youthful Offender Status Sparks Outrage

Despite an initial charge of reckless manslaughter being upgraded to reckless murder, a judge granted the defendant Youthful Offender status. This decision caps the sentence at three years and seals the case from public view, sparking outrage from Nolan's mother. "This sends the message that in Alabama, you can drive drunk, take a life, and still receive a soft, sealed sentence," Jones stated.

Pushing for Legislative Change

Jones is now urging lawmakers to reform the Youthful Offender statute. She's teamed up with State Rep. Phillip Pettus, who has prefiled House Bill 11 for the upcoming 2026 legislative session. The bill would mandate that anyone 16 or older charged with murder or capital murder be automatically tried as an adult, removing judicial discretion in these violent crime cases.

Addressing Concerns and Seeking Accountability

Jones has also raised concerns about alleged connections between the defendant's family and the handling of the case, including reports of the defendant's father, a former police sergeant, being present at the scene and facing termination due to a witness complaint. "The people of Alabama deserve to know that the life of an innocent victim will always carry more weight than the protection of an offender," she asserts.

A Mother's Plea

Jones is determined to honor her son's memory and ensure that the Youthful Offender law isn't used to shield violent offenders from accountability. Her heartbreaking story underscores the urgent need for change, urging lawmakers to consider Nolan's case as motivation to push for reform.

Remembering Nolan

"Nolan had a mind the world desperately needed," Jones shared in a video. "And now, because of someone else’s reckless, deliberate actions, he will never turn 20."
