Standing Strong for Alabama Farmers: Farm Bill 2.0

President Trump promised to fight for the "forgotten men and women," and that absolutely includes our farmers and rural communities! He’s proven time and again that he’s got their backs, battling unfair trade deals and slashing through the Washington red tape that holds them back.

Building on Success

Now, with Farm Bill 2.0 on the horizon, we're ready to build on that success and make sure Alabama agriculture thrives for generations to come. We're making sure this bill is written not by Washington bureaucrats, but by the very folks who know what it takes to plant, grow, and harvest in Alabama soil.

Remembering "One Big Beautiful Bill"

President Trump's "One Big Beautiful Bill" invested more in American producers than anything we've seen in decades, tackling fraud and waste while raising reference prices and eliminating the death tax. But the fight isn't over!

Key Priorities for Farm Bill 2.0

Farm Bill 2.0 needs to deliver on some crucial points:

  • Protecting Crop Insurance: Keeping crop insurance strong and expanding it for specialty crops is vital.
  • Strengthening Commodity Programs: Bolstering the commodity programs from reconciliation is a must.
  • Swift Disaster Aid: Ensuring disaster aid gets to those who need it quickly and fairly.
  • Investing in Rural Communities: Continued investment in broadband, rural hospitals, and young farmers.

No Handouts, Just a Fair Chance

Our farmers aren't asking for handouts – they just want a fair chance to weather the storms and keep providing for Alabama families.

Strengthening the Farm Safety Net

Farming is a tough business! We need to strengthen the farm safety net, offering a block grant authority that would streamline disaster relief and empower Alabama to act quickly instead of waiting on Washington.

A Future for Rural Communities

We need to equip our rural communities for the future, with access to broadband, strong rural hospitals, and support for young farmers. We can't afford to lose a generation of producers because they lack opportunity.

Standing with Alabama Farmers

Alabama farmers are the heart and soul of our country! I'm looking forward to working to create a Farm Bill 2.0 that secures the future of American agriculture and keeps Alabama at the forefront of feeding and fueling this great nation.

Arizona Man Busted for Mailing Deadly Opioid to Alabama!

Hold on to your hats, ChumCityzens, because this story is wild! Federal agents in Arizona just nabbed 19-year-old Ignacio Miguel Tirado-Castillo for allegedly mailing a whopping 25 POUNDS of Carfentanil to Alabama. Yeah, you read that right – pounds!

What's Carfentanil? Scary Stuff.

For those not in the know, Carfentanil is some seriously scary stuff. We’re talking an opioid so potent it's usually used to sedate ELEPHANTS. The DEA warns it's 10,000 times stronger than morphine and 100 times stronger than fentanyl. Just a tiny bit can be deadly, and it looks a lot like other drugs, making it extra dangerous.

Suspect's Alleged Cartel Ties and More

But wait, there's more! Prosecutors believe Tirado-Castillo may be linked to firearms trafficking in Mexico and possibly even have connections to Mexican cartel members. Plus, officials say he's not a legal U.S. citizen. Talk about a tangled web!

Facing Major Jail Time

Tirado-Castillo is now facing charges in Alabama after a judge decided he was a flight risk and ordered him held without bond. He's also facing separate federal charges in Nebraska. If convicted on all counts, he could be spending the rest of his days behind bars.

Teamwork Makes the Dream Work

The Alabama Homeland Security Task Force led the investigation, with help from the U.S. Postal Service, Birmingham Police Department, and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. Big ups to them for keeping this deadly substance off the streets! This is some serious stuff, folks. Stay safe out there!

Alabama News Roundup - ChumCity Style!

Trump's Doughy Victory?

Alabama AG Steve Marshall is pumpin' fists over a New York court slicin' and dicin' Trump's massive civil fraud penalty. To celebrate, Trump treated National Guard troops in D.C. to some cheesy goodness. Pizza party, anyone?

UWA's DEI Dodgeball?

The prez of the University of West Alabama is swearin' up and down they're followin' Alabama's anti-DEI law. But, a sneaky video shows a student services dean talkin' 'bout loopholes and questionin' lawmakers' enforcement chops. Awkward!

Mom Fights for Youthful Offender Reform

An Alabama mama's on a mission after her son's tragic death and a judge's light sentence for his killers. State Rep. Phillip Pettus is steppin' up to bat, lookin' to overhaul the law in 2026.

Visa Review Could Affect Millions

Remember the Trump admin's visa review? Turns out, it could put a whopping 55 million folks "at risk" of deportation. On top of that, Kristi Noem (DHS Secretary) scored a legal win, makin' it easier to boot Honduran, Nicaraguan, and Nepalese migrants. Yikes!

Kamala's B'ham Book Tour?

Former VP Kamala Harris is headin' to Birmingham in October to shill her memoir. Considering Alabama gave her a big ol' thumbs-down in the election, seems like a fitting place to discuss…well, you know.

School Bills are Back!

Alabama lawmakers are dustin' off some school-related bills for the 2026 session. Get ready for mandatory daily National Anthem shenanigans, pronoun restrictions, and even more "divisive concepts" limitations. Hold on to your hats!

Putin's Ukraine Demands

Putin's still got demands to end the Ukraine war: No NATO for Ukraine, no Western troops, and hand over the Donbas region. While Russia says it might give back some land, and Trump seems to think it's all water under the bridge, Rep. Gary Palmer is warnin' us that Putin's still hankerin' for a regional rumble.

Palmer Backs Trump's D.C. Crime Crackdown!

U.S. Rep. Gary Palmer (R-Hoover) is throwing his weight behind President Trump's efforts to tackle rising crime in Washington D.C. Trump recently announced plans to put the D.C. police under federal oversight and deploy 800 National Guard troops.

Are the Tides Turning?

According to U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi, the crackdown has already resulted in 630 arrests and the seizure of 86 illegal firearms. Plus, get this, there haven't been any reported homicides in the city all week! Is this thing on?!

Safety Concerns & Manipulated Stats!

Palmer, speaking on "The Jeff Poor Show," didn't mince words. He admitted being "concerned about my staff safety," citing carjackings, muggings, and shootings. He even mentioned shootings near Nationals Park during games! Palmer suspects the D.C. Metro Police Department has been fudging the crime numbers, painting a rosier picture than reality.

More Than Just the National Guard Needed!

Palmer thinks Trump's actions are a good start, but argues lasting change requires more than just troop deployment. He's calling for a return to "no broken windows" policing – consequences for even minor offenses! He also points out that the D.C. City Council vetoed the Mayor's attempts to crack down on crime. What?!

A Warning for the Nation?

Palmer sees D.C.'s crime woes as a symptom of failed Democratic leadership. He highlighted issues like legalized marijuana, homeless encampments, and street harassment, painting a stark picture. "Washington DC was becoming a microcosm of what the country would look like under complete democratic control," Palmer warned, referencing other troubled cities like Chicago, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. Yikes!
