Roll Tide! Wrightsell Jr. Back for More!

Big news out of Tuscaloosa! The Alabama Crimson Tide hoops squad just got a massive boost. Latrell Wrightsell Jr., the team's super shooter, is officially returning for another season!

Sixth Season Granted!

After a tough Achilles injury cut his last season short, the NCAA has granted Wrightsell a medical waiver, giving him a sixth year of eligibility. Talk about a comeback story!

Huge Impact Expected

Wrightsell's injury was a real blow last year. Before he went down, he was averaging a sizzling 11.5 points per game and helped propel the Tide to a strong start. He's expected to be back to full strength for the upcoming season.

Oats' Game Plan Solidifies

With Wrightsell back in the fold, Coach Nate Oats can really start fine-tuning the team. Get ready, college basketball world, the Crimson Tide are coming!

Aniah Blanchard Case: Status Hearing Today

The Ibraheem Yazeed case, involving the tragic kidnapping and murder of Homewood's Aniah Blanchard nearly six years ago, continues. Yazeed is due in court today for a status hearing.

Retired Justice Presiding

Retired Justice Tom F. Young is now overseeing the case. He's stepped in to ensure things move swiftly, thanks to the newly enacted Speedy Trial Act.

Speedy Trial Act Impact

The Speedy Trial Act aims to get justice to victims faster and tackle the backlog of violent crime cases plaguing Alabama. Remember when we talked about the Speedy Trial Act being invoked in this case back in 2019?

Aniah's Law: A Result of the Tragedy

Yazeed was out on bond for other violent charges when Blanchard's murder occurred. This prompted Alabama lawmakers to create Aniah's Law, letting courts deny bond to those accused of multiple violent felonies. We covered the passage of Aniah's Law by the Alabama House, remember?

Media Gag Order Requested

Yazeed's legal team is pushing for a gag order. They're asking the judge to stop witnesses, court staff, and law enforcement from talking to the media during the trial.

Longshore & McKnight: Auburn's Recruiting Rollercoaster!

John Longshore and Barry McKnight didn't hold back! They dove headfirst into Auburn's recruiting troubles, dissecting the loss of linebacker Shidarius Toodle to Georgia and wide receiver Devin Carter's flip back to Florida State. Ouch! With rankings plummeting (some sites said 73rd!), are alarm bells ringing for Hugh Freeze? The guys explored if the program is losing steam.

2025 Season Kicks Off With a Bang!

Mark your calendars! Auburn's hitting the road to face Baylor, and Alabama's heading to Florida State to start the 2025 season. A rare event indeed - the first time since '76 both teams are on the road against non-conference opponents right out of the gate.

Castellanos' Bold Claims & Sankey's Slow Moves

Florida State QB Tommy Castellanos is already talking smack, saying he "dreamed of moments like this" and that Alabama can't stop him. Premature, much? Longshore and McKnight thought so! Plus, Greg Sankey's on the hot seat for dragging his feet on a nine-game SEC schedule and playoff shake-ups.

Braves' Save Streak Snapped!

The Braves finally broke their 31-game save drought with a nail-biting 3-2 win over the Mets! Dylan Lee shut it down in the ninth. Even though they're 10.5 games behind in the NL East, could Atlanta still make a wild card push? Longshore and McKnight debated!

Rep. Moore Cracks Down on Drunk Driving Immigrants

U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) is fighting to keep our streets safe with his latest bill, aimed at preventing what he calls "liberal states" from releasing undocumented immigrants charged with serious crimes back into our communities.

The "Protect Our Communities Act"

Moore's bill, the Jeremy and Angel Seay and Sergeant Brandon Mendoza Protect Our Communities from DUIs Act of 2025, recently cleared the Judiciary Committee. The gist? Any undocumented person convicted of, or admitting to, driving under the influence would face immediate deportation.

A Second Try

Moore tried to pass similar legislation last year, but it stalled in the Senate. He recently discussed the issue, highlighting tragic cases where repeat DUI offenders who were undocumented immigrants caused fatal accidents.

Bi-Partisan Support Fading?

While the bill has seen some bipartisan support in the past, Moore is now seeing resistance from Democrats on almost any type of immigration enforcement. He emphasized the importance of holding everyone accountable, stating, "It is an honor to be in this country. You are to treat it as a privilege. You shouldn't be out here, breaking our laws and risking our lives."
