Alabama's GOP congressmen are digging in! They all voted Wednesday to keep the House Oversight Committee hot on the trail of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. However, Alabama's Democratic representatives, Terri Sewell (Birmingham) and Shomari Figures (Mobile), voted against the measure. The vote ultimately split along party lines, 212-208. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana) is framing this as a solid alternative to Rep. Thomas Massie's (R-Kentucky) wild proposal to unleash all the Epstein files within a month. Massie's push has apparently caused some serious ripples, even leading to an early August recess! Word is, former President Trump isn't exactly thrilled either. "I voted for the Oversight Committee to keep digging into Jeffrey Epstein," said Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise). He and fellow Alabama Republicans Mike Rogers, Robert Aderholt, Gary Palmer, and Dale Strong, all backed the measure. Moore added, "Congress needs to find the truth and make sure everyone's held responsible." Moore also mentioned, "President Trump's administration has been the most transparent ever, and I believe they'll support this investigation until the truth is out." The Oversight Committee already dropped thousands of documents related to the Epstein and Maxwell case earlier this week.
