President Trump promised to fight for the "forgotten men and women," and that absolutely includes our farmers and rural communities! He’s proven time and again that he’s got their backs, battling unfair trade deals and slashing through the Washington red tape that holds them back. Now, with Farm Bill 2.0 on the horizon, we're ready to build on that success and make sure Alabama agriculture thrives for generations to come. We're making sure this bill is written not by Washington bureaucrats, but by the very folks who know what it takes to plant, grow, and harvest in Alabama soil. President Trump's "One Big Beautiful Bill" invested more in American producers than anything we've seen in decades, tackling fraud and waste while raising reference prices and eliminating the death tax. But the fight isn't over! Farm Bill 2.0 needs to deliver on some crucial points: Our farmers aren't asking for handouts – they just want a fair chance to weather the storms and keep providing for Alabama families. Farming is a tough business! We need to strengthen the farm safety net, offering a block grant authority that would streamline disaster relief and empower Alabama to act quickly instead of waiting on Washington. We need to equip our rural communities for the future, with access to broadband, strong rural hospitals, and support for young farmers. We can't afford to lose a generation of producers because they lack opportunity. Alabama farmers are the heart and soul of our country! I'm looking forward to working to create a Farm Bill 2.0 that secures the future of American agriculture and keeps Alabama at the forefront of feeding and fueling this great nation.
