Golden Dome Gets Its Guy!

Huntsville's got a reason to cheer! Gen. Michael A. Guetlein, a Redstone Arsenal alum, just got the nod to head up the Department of Defense's Golden Dome project! The U.S. Senate gave him a unanimous "thumbs up" on Thursday, according to U.S. Rep. Dale Strong.

Back to his Roots

Before becoming a Space Force bigwig, Guetlein served at Redstone Arsenal with the Missile Defense Agency from 2017 to 2019.

Strong Support

“President Trump’s decision to have General Guetlein serve as the Golden Dome Czar is a strategic move," said Rep. Strong (R-Huntsville), who co-chairs the Congressional Golden Dome Caucus. "I applaud the Senate’s quick action, and I’m excited to work with him on this crucial project."

What's the Golden Dome?

This ambitious project is all about building a "next-generation missile defense shield" to protect the U.S. from all sorts of aerial threats – from ballistic missiles to those super-fast hypersonic ones!

A Bright Future

Rep. Jeff Crank (R-Colo.), another co-chair of the caucus, chimed in, saying he's "confident that under [Guetlein's] leadership, President Trump's vision...will soon become a reality." He also pledged Congress's full support. Get ready for some serious defense innovation, ChumCity!
