Word on the street is President Trump has nominated four folks to join the Tennessee Valley Authority’s (TVA) board of directors, and one of 'em calls Guntersville home! Randall Jones, an insurance agent from our very own Guntersville, is in the running, alongside Tennesseans Lee Beaman, Mitch Graves, and Jeff Hagood. Things have been a little…sparse at the TVA board since March. Remember Huntsville attorney Joe Ritch? Well, some of Biden's picks got the boot, leaving the board short-handed. We're talking only three out of nine members present! With six seats to fill, Trump's picks could seriously reshape things. Of course, the U.S. Senate needs to give 'em the thumbs-up first. The TVA powers up over 10 million folks across seven Southern states, so this is a pretty big deal! Without enough board members, the TVA can keep the lights on, but they can't exactly launch into anything new. No bold moves, no fresh programs, no major course corrections. Jones, a Jacksonville State University grad, is pretty active 'round these parts. He's on the JSU board, the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame board, and even the Guntersville Electric Board. He and his wife Debra have a daughter and a grandson, and they're active members at First Baptist Church in Guntersville.TVA Board Could Get a Shake-Up!
