Hometown Hero Alert! Sgt. Curt Griffith Named "Veteran of the Month"

Alabama's own Sgt. Curt Griffith of Florence is getting some well-deserved recognition! Senator Tommy Tuberville has named him the June "Veteran of the Month" for his outstanding service in the U.S. Marine Corps and his amazing work in the community.

From Marine to Mentor

Senator Tuberville's office released a video highlighting Griffith's dedication and commitment to helping others, especially kids in need across Northeast Alabama. Griffith's story is one of resilience, turning hardship into opportunity.

Giving Back to the Shoals

Griffith, who faced early adversity, found purpose in the Marine Corps and now dedicates himself to providing that same sense of belonging to the youth in the Shoals area. He puts his skills to work with the local Marine Corps League and the Toys for Tots charity.

Expanding Toys for Tots Reach

Thanks to Griffith's leadership, the Toys for Tots program has exploded! It now serves five counties in Northeast Alabama: Lauderdale, Colbert, Franklin, Winston, and Marion.

Making a Difference

Griffith's hard work has taken Toys for Tots from serving just 200 children to nearly 2,000 annually! He's making a huge impact, supporting families during Easter and Christmas, reminding kids they're not alone.

Honoring a True Leader

Senator Tuberville praised Griffith as "a great example of what strong leadership and a will to serve those in need can do." It's an honor to recognize Curt Griffith as the "June Veteran of the Month!"
