The race for mayor in Alexander City ("Alex City" to us locals!) is getting spicy! Businessman and pastor Mike Densmore has officially thrown his hat in the ring, challenging incumbent Curtis "Woody" Baird and a whole crew of other contenders. This Alex City native and Benjamin Russell High School grad is banking on his 30+ years of corporate experience at Goodyear and his 40+ years in local ministry to win over voters. Densmore says he's ready to listen to the people and put their interests first! "When you're a public servant, you work for the people!" Densmore declared at his campaign launch. He believes his unique blend of business savvy and community service gives him the edge to move our city forward. He's got a Bachelor's from Auburn (Go Tigers!) where he also wrestled and played football! After teaching and coaching, he spent decades at Goodyear, retiring as a big-shot director. Plus, he's chaired a bunch of local boards. Densmore joins a packed lineup including Mayor Curtis "Woody" Baird, retired educator Sandra Cullins, councilmember Buffy Colvin, and entrepreneur David Wyckoff. With five candidates vying for the top spot, the primary on August 26, 2025, is gonna be a showdown! Local leaders are laser-focused on boosting the economy, improving education, fixing our roads, and making city services even better. Densmore promises to tackle these challenges head-on, and he thinks he's the best person for the job! "This isn't about me," Densmore insists. "It's about Alex City's future!" He's talking about improving education, sparking economic growth, investing in infrastructure, and boosting our quality of life. The general election, where we decide who gets to lead Alex City, is also set for August 26, 2025. Get ready to vote, folks!Alex City Mayoral Race Heats Up!
