Remember those weekly emails DoD civilian employees had to send, detailing their accomplishments? Well, they're GONE! The Department of Defense just announced they're pulling the plug on the initiative that drew plenty of eye-rolls. Interim Under Secretary of Defense Jules W. Hurst III broke the news to the civilian workforce, according to Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell. Today marks the official end of the "What You Did Last Week" saga. In a final twist, Hurst asked employees to use their last submission to brainstorm ideas for improving efficiency or cutting waste. Smart move! Back in February, the DoD, under guidance from Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, required employees to list five weekly achievements in an email. The goal, according to Parnell, was to give leaders better insights and boost accountability. While the department says they are still focused on positive change, the emails are over.DoD Ditches "What You Did Last Week" Emails!
