Beginning the Trek: Manali to Jobra

Our journey started in Manali, the small hill station. There the TrekYaari crew was to meet us, so streamlining and hassle-free the pre-trek process was. From Manali, we drove picturesquely to Jobra, where the real journey began.

The day we crossed the Hampta Pass at 14,065 feet turned out to be the highlight of the trip. Though every step was difficult—a trek across rocky roads and snowfields—was worthwhile. Perched on the pass, I was met with expansive vistas of the austere, rocky Lahaul valley on one side and the verdant Kullu valley on another.

The Valley of Otherworld Sia Goru

Calling it quits at Chatru and Chandratal

The last part brought us to Chatru, where we piled into cars headed back to Manali. But before calling off the journey, TrekYaari surprised us with a visit to the breathtaking Chandratal Lake, sometimes known as the Moon Lake, with its glistening blue waters encircled by rugged mountains.
