Will a tropical storm head for the U.S. late this week?

A tropical disturbance in the central Atlantic Ocean has a 40 percent probability of becoming a tropical depression or storm in the next week. Its potential path is shown above. However, it's too soon to say with any certainty whether it will affect the continental U.S.National Hurricane Center

The hurricane center’s forecast shows the system taking a path to the west-northwest. If that happens the system would move near or over Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, Hispaniola, Cuba and eventually Florida.
