Tide's QB Conundrum Continues!

The million-dollar question for Alabama fans: who's gonna lead the offense this season? Summer training is looming, and the Crimson Tide still hasn't officially named a starting quarterback.

The Contenders

Ty Simpson seems to be the frontrunner, but Austin Mack and freshman Keelon Russell are also in the mix. It's a three-horse race, folks!

DeBoer's Dilemma

Head Coach Kalen DeBoer is under pressure to make the right call. This is his second year, and after a wild first season, expectations are high. He wants a QB that the team trusts and rallies behind. He wants "their guy."

"He’s a guy that players, I think, see as a productive quarterback but also one who’s fun to be around, a good dude. He’s got to continue to balance the leadership piece," DeBoer said.

Not So Fast!

Don't crown Simpson just yet! DeBoer insists the competition is far from over.

"That competition continues to happen. We are not where we need to be yet, but Ty certainly has all the traits to win championship games for us," DeBoer stated, adding that the other quarterbacks also have the potential to shine.
